Stellantis has officially unveiled its new 2.0-liter turbocharged Hurricane4 engine, a significant departure from its predecessor, the GME-T4. This engine, developed from a clean-sheet design, boasts 324 horsepower and 332 foot-pounds of torque, achieving an impressive 162 horsepower per liter. A key innovation is the integration of Turbulent Jet Ignition (TJI) technology, previously seen in Maserati's Nettuno V6, enhancing both performance and efficiency. The Hurricane4 is slated for its debut in the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, offering a compelling alternative to the V6, with comparable towing capacity but superior power, torque, and fuel economy.
