In a comprehensive real-world range test, Carwow pushed six small electric cars to their limits, driving them from London until they ran out of charge. The Honda e, despite its stylish and quirky design, was the first to stop, managing only 113 miles, significantly short of its claimed 125 miles. The Mini Electric followed at 154 miles (106% of claimed), then the Peugeot e-208 at 161 miles (74%), and the Volkswagen e-Up! at 162 miles (102%). The Vauxhall Corsa-e achieved 174 miles (83%), while the Renault Zoe impressively led the pack with 229 miles (96% of claimed). The reviewer highlighted the Honda e's tight turning circle and one-pedal driving as positives for city use, but its firm suspension and limited range were drawbacks. The Mini Electric offered sportier performance but felt less special than the Honda. The VW e-Up! was noted for its comfortable ride but lacked power and strong regenerative braking. The Peugeot e-208 and Vauxhall Corsa-e, sharing mechanicals, offered good performance but the Peugeot's interior was deemed more special. The Zoe stood out for its superior range and comfort, making it the most relaxing for longer journeys, despite a less exciting design.
