The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is praised for its exceptional comfort, quiet ride, luxurious interior, and striking design, making it a compelling vehicle overall. However, the reviewer highlights significant drawbacks concerning its electric vehicle performance. The Lyriq exhibits alarmingly poor energy efficiency, averaging around 1.7-2.9 miles per kWh, far below its rated expectations. Furthermore, the vehicle suffers from severe DC fast charging issues, with charging speeds dropping dramatically and failing to precondition the battery effectively. Despite only 2,500 miles, the charging performance has degraded significantly, leading to abysmal speeds even at higher states of charge. Cadillac has been contacted and will diagnose the vehicle, with the possibility of a buyback. While the Lyriq excels as a comfortable car, its current EV performance, particularly charging and efficiency, is a major limitation for road tripping and may not keep it in the reviewer's fleet long-term.
