Charging speeds, though improved for 2024 to 35 minutes for a 10-80% DC fast charge, still lag behind some competitors. The interior, co-developed with Toyota, features a unique, stylized dashboard and a square steering wheel, which may not appeal to all. Despite its shortcomings in range and outright performance compared to rivals like the Tesla Model Y, the Solterra excels as an easy-to-live-with, comfortable, and capable EV for average daily use, especially for existing Subaru owners seeking an electric alternative with familiar brand traits and excellent all-wheel-drive performance.
