The primary appeal of this compact truck lies in its impressive fuel efficiency, with the hybrid powertrain promising up to 40 MPG city and 34 MPG highway, achieving a combined 37 MPG. However, the acquisition process revealed a surprising price escalation from the advertised base model, with their chosen configuration reaching $36,000 due to added packages for heated seats, a towing package, and the Luxury Package (301A) which includes power and heated seats, and Ford Co-Pilot 360. A notable compromise is the unavailability of the Tremor or FX4 off-road packages with the hybrid AWD powertrain, meaning no skid plates or higher suspension. The truck features a CVT transmission, standard on all hybrids. Despite the higher-than-expected cost, the team is excited about the Maverick's practicality, comfortable interior comparable to a Ranger, and its suitability for Colorado's unpredictable weather with AWD, making it a versatile choice for various tasks and road trips.
