The EV Geek Studios hosts attended the exclusive 2027 Chevy Bolt reveal event in Los Angeles, sharing their firsthand impressions. While the exterior retains a strong resemblance to the outgoing Bolt EUV, the interior and powertrain are significantly updated. Key improvements include a new digital cockpit with an 11.3-inch infotainment screen running Android Automotive, a redesigned center console with a column shifter, and a 65 kWh LFP battery pack estimated to provide 255 miles of range. Charging capabilities are enhanced, with DC fast charging up to 150 kW (10-80% in 26 minutes) and a standard 48-amp Level 2 onboard charger. Notably, the new Bolt supports vehicle-to-home (V2H) power export. The hosts were impressed by the potential sub-$30,000 starting price, especially in contrast to other EV offerings. However, they noted the retention of front-wheel drive only and the absence of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, mirroring other recent GM EVs. The limited run nature of the vehicle was also a point of discussion, with speculation pointing towards potential LFP cell supply constraints.
