The 2024 Acura ZDX Type S marks Acura's return to the midsize luxury SUV segment with its first mass-produced EV, built on GM's Ultium platform. While it boasts nearly 500 horsepower and a comfortable, well-built interior with premium materials and a superior infotainment system (including wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto) compared to its GM counterparts, it falls short of true Type S performance expectations. The reviewer notes that despite the power, the 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds is acceptable but not exhilarating for a Type S model, suggesting it should be closer to 3.5 seconds.
