This second attempt at a road trip in the VW ID.Buzz proved to be a much more positive experience than the first, which was marred by charging issues and adverse weather. The hosts, Mary and Jen, found the ID.Buzz to be surprisingly comfortable and spacious, highlighting the well-appointed seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, as well as the ample charging ports and adjustable climate controls in the rear. The vehicle's range prediction proved to be remarkably accurate, even in windy and cold conditions, impressing the reviewers. However, the video also underscored the persistent challenges of public EV charging, with the Electrify America stations in Colorado Springs being overcrowded and experiencing charger unavailability, leading to significant wait times and a detour to Pueblo. Despite these charging frustrations, the ID.Buzz itself received high marks for its comfort, practicality, and retro-modern design, making it a strong contender for family road trips, provided one plans for charging logistics.
