While impressed by the car's solid build quality, composed ride, and effective lane-centering system (Pilot Pro), he ultimately concluded it's not the car for him. His primary criticisms revolve around interior ergonomics, specifically a lack of knee room and an uncomfortable footwell position for his larger frame, despite adequate headroom. He also noted the charging experience is less seamless than Tesla's, requiring manual payment at stations. Although he found the car to be smooth and well-composed on various road surfaces, he felt it wasn't "super fast," speculating it might be the front-wheel-drive version. Despite these personal drawbacks, Dave acknowledges the Polestar 2 is a well-built vehicle that he would recommend to many, though he personally would opt for a Tesla Model 3 at a similar price point.
