While Kia claims 10-80% charge in 24 minutes, the test yielded a 32-minute charge to 80%, starting at 11% and reaching 64% in 24 minutes. The reviewer experienced initial charging issues at IONITY Folkestone, attributing them possibly to the charger or the car, but eventually managed to charge by holding the plug firmly. The maximum charging speed observed was around 165 kW, which increased late in the charging session. Battery temperature reached 24-28°C, which should theoretically enable faster charging. The reviewer noted the car's clear display of charging information, a feature lacking in some competitors. Despite the slower-than-advertised charging speed, the reviewer deemed the 32-minute charge time acceptable for a road trip stop. Real-world efficiency on the return journey was 3.2 miles/kWh, considered decent for a large vehicle. The charging cost was £47.88 for a significant charge.
