This video documents the ambitious build of a one-of-a-kind electric UTV, a Polaris Razor transformed into a cyber quad/moon rover hybrid. The project, undertaken for an eBay Motors challenge, showcases significant custom fabrication, including unique "Condor" doors and a robust EV powertrain from Legacy EV featuring a Hyper 9 motor and 22.2 kWh of prismatic cells. While the build impressed with its potential, the real-world testing revealed critical weaknesses in the stock Polaris components, with the front differential and driveshaft failing under the electric motor's torque. Despite these setbacks, the UTV demonstrated impressive off-road capability, even in two-wheel drive and one-wheel drive configurations, outperforming its original form. The vehicle also achieved remarkable range, using only 35% of its battery over an entire weekend of testing. The review highlights the vehicle's menacing aesthetics, comfortable seating, and advanced dashboard, but underscores the fragility of the original UTV parts when subjected to extreme electric power.
