The DS 9 is presented as a stylish and artistic French alternative to German luxury sedans, offering a striking exterior design with ample chrome and unique touches. Inside, the cabin boasts plush materials like Alcantara and large screens, though the infotainment system is noted as less intuitive than competitors. The range-topping model features a 360hp dual-motor plug-in hybrid powertrain. While the DS 9 excels in providing a comfortable and quiet ride, particularly at lower speeds and on motorways, thanks to its camera-assisted suspension, it falls short in dynamic driving. The steering lacks feel, the powertrain can be hesitant and noisy under acceleration, and the car doesn't inspire sporty driving. Practicality is decent with good rear legroom, but the boot capacity is slightly less than a Mercedes E-Class, and the hybrid version further reduces it. Despite its unique charm and comfort, the DS 9 is considered a bit expensive and ultimately a niche alternative rather than a direct competitor to the established German class leaders.
