Ford has announced significant updates for the Mustang Mach-E, including substantial price cuts across various trims and the introduction of new LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries for standard range models. The price reductions range from $1,000 on the California Route 1 to $4,000 on Premium and GT trims, making the Mach-E more accessible. The new LFP batteries, available on Select and Premium standard range models, offer advantages such as daily 100% charging capability without degradation, increased durability, and slightly faster charging times (10-80% in 33 minutes vs. 38 minutes). While LFP batteries take up more space and are not available in extended range configurations, they provide a slight horsepower and range boost (up to 250 miles RWD, 226 miles AWD). The video also details updates to BlueCruise 1.2, now standard with a 90-day trial on all Mach-Es, and new package options like the Comfort Package Light for the Select trim. Ford is also increasing production capacity, aiming to reduce wait times significantly. The federal tax credit of $3,750 remains applicable to these updated models.
