The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ represents a bold, electric reimagining of the iconic luxury SUV, aiming to be the "coolest Escalade ever made." The vehicle impresses with its unique EV-specific features, such as a front trunk (frunk), a massive 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display, and advanced technology like rear steering and a fixed glass roof. Performance is strong, with 680 standard horsepower (boostable to 750 in Velocity mode) and an impressive Cadillac-estimated range of 460 miles from its 200 kWh battery. The interior offers a luxurious, leather-free environment with ample technology and comfort features, including a 19-speaker AKG audio system standard. However, the Escalade IQ is not without its drawbacks. The third row is significantly smaller and less practical than in the gasoline Escalade, and the price point is considerably higher than its internal combustion counterpart, starting at $127,700 and reaching around $134,000 for the tested Sport 2 trim. While ride quality is generally good thanks to standard air suspension and Magnetic Ride Control, it can be compromised by sharp intrusions due to the large 24-inch standard wheels. Despite these points, the Escalade IQ's innovative features and electric powertrain make it a compelling, albeit expensive, new entry in the luxury SUV market.
