The A2Z CHAdeMO to CCS adapter is reviewed as a potential solution for owners of older CHAdeMO-equipped EVs, particularly the Kia Soul. While the adapter is robustly built and offers high power ratings (up to 250 kW), its real-world performance is mixed. The reviewer experienced significant issues with connectivity and unlatching, requiring multiple attempts and sometimes considerable force. Furthermore, the adapter failed to accurately report the vehicle's state of charge on any of the tested chargers, a critical flaw for chargers that stop at 80% or for users with specific charging limits.
