In this drag race showdown, the Lucid Air Performance takes on the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The Lucid Air, boasting an astonishing 1111 hp and 1390 Nm of torque from its dual electric motors, significantly outperforms the Porsche's 761 hp and 1050 Nm. Despite a higher price tag (£190,000 vs £150,000) and slightly greater weight (2.4 tons vs 2.3 tons), the Lucid Air consistently demonstrated superior acceleration. It dominated in standing quarter-mile races, achieving 10.3 seconds compared to the Taycan's 10.5 seconds. In rolling races from 30 mph and 50 mph, the Lucid Air's immense power left the Porsche far behind. The Taycan Turbo S, however, showed its strength in braking, performing significantly better than the Lucid Air, which the reviewer noted had brakes similar to the Tesla Model S. While the Lucid Air's acceleration is undeniably impressive, its high price and perceived build quality issues (misaligned roof panel) were highlighted as potential drawbacks.
