The Twizy, with a quoted range of 40 miles, struggled to achieve more than 32 miles, while the electric bike fared even worse, getting only 28-29 miles out of its 50-60 mile expected range. Despite these difficulties, the participants persevered, encountering various charging stops, mechanical issues with the Twizy (a loose track rod end and a falling window), and even a brief detour onto a bus/taxi lane. The race was a close contest, with the lead frequently changing hands. Ultimately, the electric bike rider arrived at the destination approximately 30 minutes ahead of the Twizy driver, who arrived with minimal range remaining. The video highlights the resilience of EV advocates and the importance of sharing for charitable causes, even when faced with extreme conditions.
