Hyundai has officially unveiled the IONIQ 6 N, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model 3 Performance. The vehicle boasts a striking, albeit subjective, design with a new 'Performance Blue Pearl' paint and aggressive aerodynamic enhancements, making it longer and wider than the standard IONIQ 6. While visually distinct, the rear design with extensive black cladding and a unique dot-matrix taillight setup has drawn mixed reactions. Performance-wise, the IONIQ 6 N offers more power than the Model 3 Performance, with 448 kW (approx. 600 hp) and 740 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 kph time of 3.2 seconds. It features a square 275-width tire setup and impressive braking capabilities with 6Gs of deceleration from regen alone. Charging is a strong suit, leveraging Hyundai's E-GMP platform for a robust charging curve, though real-world range is anticipated to be lower than the Model 3 Performance, with a WLTP estimate of 291 miles. Concerns remain regarding its projected weight, range, and price point compared to the Model 3 Performance. The interior retains the standard IONIQ 6 center console but offers extensive customization options for suspension and driving dynamics, which may be overwhelming for some. Notably, it lacks a front trunk due to the larger front motor.
