The Volkswagen Tiguan was noted for its luxury feel, supportive seats, and quiet cabin, but lacked a hybrid option, had below-average fuel economy, and relied solely on touchscreen controls. The Toyota RAV4 showed significant improvements with a new infotainment system, standard digital display, and integrated dashcam, offering good performance and efficiency, though its rear seat and front seat comfort were noted as drawbacks. The Kia Sportage Hybrid tied for the top spot with the Hyundai Tucson, offering comfortable seats, ample storage, a great cargo area, and excellent value, but its infotainment controls were cumbersome and fuel economy was only average for a hybrid. Ultimately, the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid was crowned the winner for its well-rounded performance, comfortable interior, ample storage, and excellent driving dynamics, making it the most recommendable compact SUV in the test.
