Toyota has officially debuted two new hybrid models: the 2021 Sienna minivan and the reimagined Venza crossover. The Sienna, now exclusively hybrid, boasts an all-American design and engineering, featuring a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain delivering 243 horsepower and an impressive 33 MPG combined. It offers available all-wheel drive across all trims, a significant upgrade for practicality, and introduces premium features like an onboard vacuum and refrigerator. The Venza, essentially a rebadged Toyota Harrier for the US market, is also 100% hybrid and standard all-wheel drive, achieving an estimated 40 MPG combined with 219 horsepower. It introduces innovative technology like the electrochromatic 'Stargaze' panoramic roof. While both vehicles impressed with their hybrid powertrains and modern features, the reviewer noted the Sienna's MPG was slightly below initial expectations and expressed a desire for a plug-in variant sooner. The Venza's adoption of the Harrier name and its advanced tech were highlighted as major positives.
