This video presents a comprehensive efficiency comparison test between the new 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Performance and previous versions, alongside Model 3 Long Range variants with and without aero covers, and two Model X vehicles. The reviewer highlights that the new 2021 Model 3 Performance shows only marginal efficiency gains over older performance models, averaging 296 Wh/mile compared to 302-314 Wh/mile for the older ones. The Model 3 Long Range with aero covers proved most efficient at 269 Wh/mile, while the non-aero version was slightly less so at 279 Wh/mile. Notably, an older 2014 Model S 85, despite not being part of the formal test and facing filming duties, achieved an impressive 295 Wh/mile, outperforming the new Model 3 Performance. The Model X variants were significantly less efficient. Charging speed tests also showed no substantial improvement for the new model.
