The Volvo EX90 Plus variant, on a road trip from the Gold Coast to Sydney, showcases its strengths as a spacious and premium family SUV, particularly for occasional seven-seater needs. The interior comfort, Scandinavian design, and ample creature comforts for second and third-row passengers are highlighted. However, the vehicle's advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), specifically cruise control and lane-keeping, proved to be a significant drawback, frequently malfunctioning and requiring manual resets or driving. This instability in the software, along with occasional infotainment glitches like slow map loading, detracts from the otherwise comfortable and agile driving experience. While the EX90 offers a more premium feel and better maneuverability than the Kia EV9, its higher starting price and software issues make it a considerable investment.
