The Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium has completed a three-month, 5000km long-term test, revealing a likable yet polarizing EV. The interior is a significant hit, praised for its clean design, excellent B&O audio, and a surprisingly well-implemented touchscreen that balances functionality with road focus. Build quality is also a strong point, showing minimal wear despite the mileage. However, practicality is a notable miss, with cramped rear legroom due to the large battery, poorly placed air vents, and a tight rear-seat aperture making child seat installation difficult. The fixed panoramic roof without a proper blind is also a disappointment. Driver independence is hampered by the lack of a spare tire and a concerningly convoluted manual override for the electric door handles in case of 12V battery failure. On the driving front, the Mach-E Premium is a hit, offering engaging rear-wheel-drive dynamics and a fun-to-drive character, making it enjoyable even for spirited drives. Commuting is also a positive experience thanks to the refined adaptive cruise control and quiet cabin. The primary drawback in driving dynamics is the fussy and crashy ride quality, particularly noticeable in the rear. Overall, the Premium trim offers a fun driving experience and a pleasant interior, but compromises in practicality and ride quality temper its appeal.
