The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS is presented not as a new generation, but as a significant refresh of the 2024 model, carrying forward its substantial updates. The exterior receives a more commanding presence with a larger grille, updated LED lighting signatures, and new wheel designs up to 23 inches. Under the hood, all models benefit from a 48-volt mild-hybrid EQ Boost system, enhancing torque and horsepower for improved responsiveness and efficiency. The lineup includes the GLS450 (3.0L inline-6), GLS580 (4.0L V8), the performance-oriented AMG GLS63, and the ultra-luxury Maybach GLS600. Inside, the GLS boasts a sophisticated dual-screen MBUX infotainment system, premium materials, and enhanced comfort features, including increased legroom in the third row. The transparent hood feature for off-roading and advanced driver-assistance systems are notable additions. While not a complete redesign, the 2026 GLS solidifies its position as a competitive and luxurious full-size SUV, offering a range of options from family-friendly to ultra-premium.
